Incursion

Incursion is a fun XNA game. The premise sounds silly, it’s basically to smuggle illegal immigrants out of their country. But the gameplay itself works pretty well.

In each stage you start with a certain amount of cash to buy immigrants. Your goal is to use those people to get through the levels obstacles and escape.

Hazards include guards, fences, and land mines. You have to plot the best course to avoid the obstacles and guards. Initially you can’t see where the guards are due to a fog of war like effect, but as you move around you’ll uncover more of the level.

You can use your cash to get several types of characters. Each has a special ability to help get through the level. Some can run fast, others can cut holes in fences, some can dig tunnels, and others can detect mines.

Using these skills you have to avoid the guards and free as many people as you can within the time limit. For each person you free, your cash will steadily go up for the remainder of the level allowing you to get even more people out.

All in all it’s a simple but fun experience. I recommend checking it out… and read the instructions first. How to play it, isn’t that intuitive at first.
