Cyber Troopers Virtual On Oratorio Tangram
Like I mentioned in the week in review a couple posts back, Virtual On Oratorio Tangram is a port of for XBLA of the Dreamcast/PS2 game of the same name.
The demo allows you to choose from 3 of the robots and play through 3 matches, before giving you a brief look at the boss and fading to black. The game controls nicely for the system, but those used to the arcade version will need some practice to re-adjust. You can switch to the old twin stick control method that was used in the arcade, but with the analog sticks are in a bit of an awkward position for it to work as well.
The new control scheme plays much more like a FPS, left stick to strafe, right stick to look, and the triggers shoot. Dashing and Jumping are controlled by the X,Y,B buttons.
Really Virtual On is a cult game. Those who like it, like it a lot, but it’s definitely not for everyone. It’s tough to explain what a one on one robot 3D fighter is like, so check out the video. If it looks like something you’d be into, try it out.
