Hi!
Thanks for visiting gameplayreviews, the idea behind this site was pretty simple. We just wanted to provide game play footage and our own thoughts on videogames.
There are no review scores here. I feel it’s unnecessary to assign a number to a game. Even out of 100 there are just too many factors to take into consideration when reviewing games and it would be impossible to keep the scale fair and accurate over time.
So let me introduce myself. I go by mikestrife pretty much everywhere, so I’ll stick with that here. I’ve been a huge video game player and collector for a long time. My collection is nearly at 1500 games, but I’m thinking it’s time to trim that down to the essentials seeing as its getting a bit unwieldy.
I’ve been playing games as long as I can remember, starting with the 2600 and have owned nearly every major console since (except the Neo Geo and Turbo Duo).
I’m also not much of a pc gamer. I’ll pick up anything that interests me that I don’t think will come out on console, but I generally prefer to play anything on a console.
I spend a lot of time on each of the current generation consoles. I mostly play single player or local multiplayer games, but on the rare case when I get into a online game I end up playing it on the PS3 as that’s the console most of my friends and co-workers own.
I’m pretty much an eclectic when it comes to games. I’ll play almost anything, and actively seek out recommended games I haven’t played. My favorite genre is survival horror, but I also love RPG’s, Tactics, and adventure games. The only genre I don’t really like is sports games. Don’t get me wrong, they are wicked fun, but only if I’m playing with someone else. I can easily pass on the single player experience, and hate the idea of buying nearly the same game every year.
So that’s me. I look forward to posting some information and getting some conversations started about what games you love! If you want to contact me, feel free to contact me at mike (at) gameplayreviews (dot) com
Also this site isn’t just me, I have a co-worker who’s also helping out a lot and will hopefully be posting just as much too. Look out for his introduction!
Have fun and keep on playing.
