I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MBIES 1N 1T!!!!1

I’ve bought a lot of crappy XNA games. I’m not complaining, I have no problem supporting these indie developers and it’s much better to pay $2-3 for a crappy game than $60. So it’s always an amazing feeling to come across an XNA game that is more than worth the cost! There have been a couple but they usual fall into the $4-8 range (and at that point you can compare them to XBLA games where maybe they aren’t that amazing).

Recently a lot of games have been coming out for 80MS points ($1), at that point you can expect much and the few I did picked up with short, un-polished tech demo like games. Typically I scroll through the XNA new released and if a title or box art jumps out at me I check out the description and screenshots for that game (Now I can rely on the user rating which was a wicked idea for MS to implement), when I came across this game it looked promising. The only thing that scared me was the $1 price tag. The game looked like it had good graphics and was a typical twin stick shooter so how bad could it be.

Surprisingly, it was amazing. For 80MS points, this might be the best value on the XNA store. The game supports 1-4 players local and plays out like a typical twin stick shooter. There are no obstacles in the levels, you just fight the masses of zombies that come after you, which sounds boring, but there are quite a few things that keep the game interesting.

There are roughly 5 different stages total, and each stage is completely different. The enemies are plentiful and diverse, you won’t just be fighting zombies, there are tons of other things to make you modify your tactics.

There are also tons of powers up. There are at least 6 different types of guns, as well as shields and extra lives.

The graphics are well done, and there’s a ton of epileptic style effects that just make the game cool, and add to the difficulty. This is definitely not a game to play if you’re prone to light induced seizures.

Finally the music is awesome. It’s got a real “You have to burn the rope” feel to it.

The game is not that long. The game only takes about 15 minutes to get through, but it’s a great 15 minutes, worth replaying for score chasing or just for fun. It would be been nice if it had a never ending mode, but for $1 this is the best 15 minutes of gameplay you can get on XNA.

Thanks for posting the ending. I always wondered what happened but hadn’t made it that far yet. Love this game. Epic.

No problem, I can understand the game took me 2 tries to figure out how to avoid some of the bad guys, but it doesn’t tak too long once you’ve got that down, 15 minutes maybe.

I love this game, the lyrics are so hillarious and the graphics are so trippy! Well worth more then it cost, can’t wait for the seaquel. I beat it twice so far, out of 4 tries.

XNA is what Microsoft gives the Indie games community to work with….the tools to make almost any type of game, of course with certain restrictions on size, content and pricing.

honestly, the “last track” is fucking epic, even if you don’t like the intentionally bad vocals. Tell your friends about it….I want this man getting all the recognition possible XD
