Final Fantasy 4 The After Years - Palom's Tale

At this point you pretty much know whether or not you’re going to get these episodes so I’ll just run through the specifics of this one. If you’re still just curious about this game read the review for the main game Final Fantasy 4 The After Years.
As the name suggest this downloadable episode features Palom, the arrogant, brother, black mage, twin half of the Palom/Parum team up from FF4.
Wanting to follow in Tellah’s footsteps Palom’s master sends him on an unusual mission to test him. The exercise is to go to Troia and train a new Epopt (kind of like an oracle. 8 of them lead the nation or Troia) in the use of magic. Usually Epopts learn white magic so this would be a task appointed to his sister Parum, but in this case Palom is sent to teach black magic.
The game starts off with Palom’s journey to Troia. Once there he meets the Epopts and takes Leonora to a nearby tower to train her and test her skills.
The gameplay is typical to the previous episodes. There are more chocobo forests around to help move around, and there are a couple of side quests to do aside from the main story. Leonora starts off much weaker than Palom (like Rydia did in the original FF4) but gains levels quickly so she should be able to hold her own after only a couple fights.
Combat is the same, but as the game focuses on Palom and Leonora you’ll mostly be using magic spells. Palom also has a “bluff” attack that allows him to lower his enemies defenses and also charge up his next spell. You can use it several times in a row for a very devastating attack.
Aside from that, there’s not too much more to say without ruining the story.
