I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MBIES 1N 1T!!!!1
I’ve bought a lot of crappy XNA games. I’m not complaining, I have no problem supporting these indie developers and it’s much better to pay $2-3 for a crappy game than $60. So it’s always an amazing feeling to come across an XNA game that is more than worth the cost! There have been a [...]
Save the city or destroy it? Not the game you think though, it’s Chalked for XNA.
Chalked was a game that I was expecting to really impress me at first, I left feeling totally turned off by it. The presentation for a community game like this is amazing. There’s an interesting mix of black and white line art and a chalk style visuals that starts with the loading screen, goes through [...]
Incursion: Smuggling immigrants across the border since 2009.
Incursion is a fun XNA game. The premise sounds silly, it’s basically to smuggle illegal immigrants out of their country. But the gameplay itself works pretty well.
In each stage you start with a certain amount of cash to buy immigrants. Your goal is to use those people to get through the levels obstacles and escape.
Hazards [...]
Jammer: An indie frequency.
Jammer is an interesting game in its own right. It’s basically a take on the old Harmonix games like Frequency and Amplitude. The main differences being that are no licensed songs, and the all the tracks are laid out horizontally instead of on a rotating hexagon. This makes for a cleaner, less busy game space. [...]
Jonny Crush: XNA’s first FPS
Johnny Crush is (as far as I know) the first XNA attempt at a FPS. It’s a single player only experience and the demo has you running around a city killing giant cockroaches and wasps.
The game surprising plays quite smooth and the controls work great. The concept of an FPS where you just kill everything [...]

Numbers + Bullets = Math Sniper
I don’t know what I expect from a game called Math Sniper. I did have a momentary flashback to the Typing of the Dead game for Dreamcast where you typed words on your keyboard to kill zombies and bosses were a full paragraph. Of course, Math Sniper was nothing like that.
The idea of shooting people [...]
Following in your footsteps. Echoes for XNA.
Echoes is a tough game to describe. It’s a fun take on a puzzle game. The idea is to collect all the gems in a level that appear one after another. The interesting thing is that instead of playing against enemies, you’re playing against yourself.
This is done through a very interesting game mechanic, where as [...]
Karnn Age Demo Xbox 360
Karnn Age is a pretty fun XNA game. From the screenshots I was expecting a experience like the top down levels in Contra 3, or Alien Syndrome type game. Instead I got a twin stick shooter. That initially disappointed me, but diving in I found a pretty fun experience.
A twin stick shooter is a game [...]
This looks familiar – Orbyx: Mystic Orbs of Chaos Demo
I downloaded this demo as the visuals looked pretty interesting. I selected the game from the games menu, went through the menu, and immediately couldn’t believe what I was playing.
In case you didn’t read the earlier post or couldn’t guess from the video (go get your eyes checked if the it’s the second one), THIS [...]
Make your own music for a wicked price – Emuze + hamst3r
This isn’t a review at all. It’s not because as much as I’d like to be Paul Van Dyke or John Digweed, I am not a DJ. I have absolutely no talent for audio editing. But when I saw this program available for XNA I had to post it for anyone who would want to [...]
