Call of Duty Classic
Call of Duty Classic is a PSN/XBLA port of the first Call of Duty game. The game was included with the special editions of Modern Warfare 2, but is also now available on PSN and XBLA for $15.
Call of Duty 1 was a World War 2 FPS from 2003, developed by Infinity Ward who has become incredibly popular due to the success of the Call of Duty games.
Though the series was quite popular during its first installments, Classic is a good way to let gamers who’ve been introduced to the series through the Modern Warfare games experience the series roots.
The game introduced a lot of mechanics that were fairly new to FPS games, and have since become a staple of the CoD series. These include being part of a squad where the other members are computer controlled and assist you throughout the missions. A leaning mechanic which lets you peek out from behind cover, and an effect that disorients you when an explosion happens nearby.
The campaign mode in CoD Classic features stories from 3 different perspectives. You play through a series of missions as an American, British and Soviet soldier. Like the later games, the story is immersive and entertaining.
The multiplayer mode features 8 player online competitive matches. The maps are the perfect size for this. You can choose a class which dictates your starting weapons, but can also pick up weapons from killed enemies. The online runs very smoothly and I didn’t encounter any lag or other online issues.
Overall the game runs smoothly and there aren’t any issues. Despite being upscaled nothing else was really done to the port to make it look better, so it still looks like a game from 2003. It’s a fun experience, and if you can tear yourself away from MW2, you should give it a chance.

if you look on the xbox 360 leaderboards for this game there is no one playing it, as the number 100 in the world only has like 50 kills online. I dont think there is any ranking system.

I’m playing this game online, i actually prefer it to MW2. There’s not a lot of ppl that play it but if you wait about you can get a game. Its an awesome game i think.

This multiplayer sucks. 90% of the time you’re walking around empty rooms looking for people to kill. The campaign’s awesome though.

This game is really really hard on veteran. But it’ll be satisfying when I get the platinum on this!!=D Plus the game is pretty cool too, but veteran is hard as 5 inch titanium steel.

ACR is POSITIVELY the most effective gun in the game. Whenever I run a TD on it, I almost always get the AC130, and slaughter almost everyone. I’m even playing with a working steam release that i downloaded from codmw2freedlYcom (replace Y with . ) . Its really a awesome game, and if you havent tried it yet, you HAVE TO go dl it RIGHT NOW!

Fck spending sixty dollars for Modern Warfare 2. Me and my buddies down loaded the Steam working version with the brand new 2010 Map Pack from codmw2freedlYcom (replace Y with . ) recently, and it definitely works beautifully. I’m already at lvl 20 and cant wait to get the ACR with Silencer!

I dont know what you guys think, have never paid forty pounds for a computer game, and never will. I downloaded the newest nulled full version plus the Map Pack from mw2forfreeXinfo (replace X with . ) and it worked flawlessly . Trust me, even though it is a Wonderful online game, it’s not worth forty pounds when you can get it for free.
